Status now

There is no member for Isoko North II as of this writing. Do not put Hon. Bernard Odior on this page. He holds Isoko North State Constituency (also called North I), which still covers the whole LGA until INEC publishes the new split and a member is sworn in here.

INEC’s 15 August 2026 statement restored four suppressed Assembly seats: Abraka, Isoko North II, Ughelli South II (Delta) and Yagba West II (Kogi). Party primaries for the restored seats were listed for 21–25 August 2026. The commission said the published 2027 general-election timetable applies to these constituencies. That is not the same as the 19 September 2026 bye-elections named in the same statement for other vacancies. Read the report: INEC Restores Isoko North II State Constituency.

Why the seat vanished

Before 1999 Isoko North had two State Assembly seats, as Isoko South still does (South I and South II).

In the 1998 delimitation INEC dropped Isoko North II. From the start of the Fourth Republic the entire Isoko North LGA voted for one member in Asaba. South kept two. That imbalance is the argument that ran through the courts and through this site’s own report of 4 May 2026.

  • 1998/99 — Seat suppressed. One North member from then on.
  • Years of suits — A Federal High Court in Warri and later orders told INEC to restore dropped constituencies.
  • 30 April 2026 — INEC memo on technical work to restore twenty court-ordered seats nationwide. Isoko North II was not on that first Delta fieldwork list (Ethiope West I, Sapele II, Ika North East II).
  • 31 July 2026 — Stakeholders’ meeting in Asaba: INEC says it is beginning restoration of Abraka, Ughelli South II and Isoko North II.
  • 15 August 2026 — Formal restoration announced. Primaries window 21–25 August 2026. 2027 election timetable applies.

Wards — not published yet

Isoko North LGA has thirteen INEC wards. They all still sit under the sitting North seat until the commission names which wards move to North II.

Those thirteen wards are: Iyede I, Iyede II, Ellu / Aradhe / Ovrode, Ofagbe, Iluelogbo, Owhe / Akiehwe, Emevor, Okpe-Isoko, Ozoro I, Ozoro II, Ozoro III, Oyede, Otibio.

This page will not guess the split. When INEC publishes the map, the town cards will go here. Igbuku is not in Isoko North LGA; it is in Ndokwa East.

What restoration changes

Two North seats would match South’s two. The federal seat — Isoko North / Isoko South — stays one. The Senate seat stays Delta South, shared with Warri, Burutu, Patani and Bomadi.

Until a member is sworn in, news about roads, schools and the university in Ozoro still travels through the sitting North member and through the LGA council.
