The sitting North seat

Isoko North I is the seat that has spoken for Isoko North Local Government Area in the Delta State House of Assembly since 1999. On older papers and on some INEC lists it is still printed as Isoko North State Constituency. This site keeps it as North I so it sits beside the restored Isoko North II.

It is not the council in Ozoro, and it is not the federal seat. The chairman of the LGA is a different office. The House of Representatives member sits for Isoko North / Isoko South — both councils together.

Before 1999 Isoko North had two Assembly seats. The second was dropped in the 1998 delimitation. INEC announced restoration of Isoko North II in August 2026. Until that seat has a sworn member, this constituency is still the only Assembly voice for the whole LGA. Isoko South already has South I and South II.

Member now

Hon. Bernard Odior, Esq. has represented Isoko North in the Assembly since June 2023. He has served as Majority Whip and as Chairman of the House Committee on Arts, Culture and Tourism.

He succeeded the late Hon. Timothy Kome Owhefere, who held the seat from 2007 until his death in 2021. A bye-election followed on 10 April 2021. The previous list on this page jumped from 2021 to 2023; Hon. Jude Ogbimi is widely recorded as the incumbent going into the 2023 cycle.
