Residents of Uzere Kingdom in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State are expressing growing concern over the continued oil well blowout at Well-14, operated by Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (HEOSL).
The incident, which has persisted for several weeks, has raised fears about its impact on the environment, public health, and local livelihoods.
Video footage obtained by Isoko Nation from the affected area shows crude oil and gas continuing to escape from the well site. Community members say the prolonged blowout has affected nearby farmlands, vegetation, and water sources, while the ongoing rainy season has heightened concerns that contaminated runoff could spread further into surrounding communities.
Residents are urging the operating company and relevant government agencies to intensify efforts to contain the blowout, assess the environmental impact, and provide necessary support to affected communities.
As of the time of this report, response efforts are ongoing. Isoko Nation will continue to monitor the situation and provide verified updates as more information becomes available.
