Ozoro, Delta State – April 15, 2026 — The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, formally presented the proposed 2026 Annual Budget to the Isoko North Legislative Arm for consideration and approval.
The budget, estimated at ₦15,765,689,606.40 (Fifteen Billion, Seven Hundred and Sixty-Five Million, Six Hundred and Eighty-Nine Thousand, Six Hundred and Six Naira, Forty Kobo), is tagged “Budget of Consolidation.”
According to the breakdown presented by the Chairman:
- Recurrent Expenditure: ₦7,431,365,960.33 (Seven Billion, Four Hundred and Thirty-One Million, Three Hundred and Sixty-Five Thousand, Nine Hundred and Sixty Naira, Thirty-Three Kobo)
- Capital Expenditure: ₦8,318,647,041.31 (Eight Billion, Three Hundred and Eighteen Million, Six Hundred and Forty-Seven Thousand, Forty-One Naira, Thirty-One Kobo)
Presenting the budget estimates at the council headquarters in Ozoro, Chairman Ogorugba emphasized that the proposal is designed to build on the gains recorded by his administration since assuming office. He highlighted key priority areas, including:
- Sustaining peace and security across Isoko North
- Human capital development
- Youth and women empowerment
- Improved healthcare delivery
- Infrastructural development
Specific projects expected to benefit from the capital vote include the renovation of primary healthcare centres in various communities, completion of residential quarters for top council officials, completion of the Otor-Igho Cottage Hospital, procurement of desks and furniture for primary schools, and other critical infrastructure and empowerment programmes.
The Chairman expressed appreciation to the Honourable Councillors for their continued partnership and urged the swift passage of the budget so that meaningful development can reach every ward and community in Isoko North.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to the judicious and transparent utilization of public resources for the overall progress of the people.
